Hardee's Jummmmbo

Ok,

Has anyone tried Hardee's new 2/3 lb., 4-bacon-slice, triple cheese megaburger?

No...BUT I did listen to one of the morning DJs on my radio station wax poetic about it the other day. Very funny...he was raving about the fact that it didn't have any of those "pesky tomatoes or lettuce"; just gobs of meat, cheese, mayo, bacon, all on a BUTTERED sesame seed bun. Yikes!

I read that it has over 1000 calories and 100 grams of fat! Do you think people supersize the fries with that kind of meal?

Do they serve it with a side of cholesterol reducing medication? Sounds like the big burger Jay Leno used to spoof on his show, while wearing the huge fat suit.

I was wondering when somebody was going to post about this...

Actually it's a good thing it IS Hardee's......... they are one of the better FF places in our area since they improved their product.

One of our local TV announcers made the comment after seeing one of the reporters try to eat one of these that maybe Hardees needed to keep a paramedic posted close by -the reporter made it through about a 1/3 of the sandwich.

Hardee's naysayers.... Give 'em another try. They have really turned around on their menu and quality.

I don't really understand where the butter comes in. Is this normal? Who puts butter on a burger? Where? On the bun? on the meat?

BaconBits, I guess you've never had a 'butter burger' then. Put a pat of butter in the formed patty and then grill it. Not sure but I think it's a midwest specialty. A friend of ours told us about them and made them up for us. Yeah, it's a heart attack waiting to happen, but they sure were good.
Never seen them here in the northeast.
Sorry for the thread drift. I have not tried the Hardees Burger. I vowed to myself 20 years ago that I would never set foot in one again. I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

WOW!!!! The cardiac special! Morning DJ said that combo comes with fries, shake, and portable defibrillator (sp?). Who on earth needs that much food at a sitting???

Funny semi-related story...was in drive-thru at Mickey D's a few days ago - had window down and could hear woman in front of me ordering:

"Double quarter pounder with cheese combo - SUPERSIZE!"
"bzzz....crackle....what kind of drink with that?"
"DIET COKE!!!"

Contrary to popular belief, drinking Diet Coke does NOT negate all calories and fat, yet millions of us believe that to be the truth. Just get the chocolate shake.....

On occasion i run into one of the workers from Hardees in Pawleys Island SC at the Food Lion. She always jokes around saying "you don't want to see" what's going on in that place. Their hamburger patties remind me of something from 7 Eleven-pretty funky with that weird consistency.

Thank you for questioning butter burgers--I'm in the Midwest where Culver's is making a name with these sandwiches, and I don't get it either. Forty years ago my crowd ate "butter-burgers" at Ak-sar-ben racetrack in Omaha and thought they were OK, but only because that was the only sandwich available. If I want, and can order a good ground meat sandwich, it shouldn't need butter to make it tasty. As to Hardee's--might be good, but I'm not going to try it!

How about that commerical with all those DUDES in a motel room chomping down on their burgers?Whats up with that?Kinda wierd if you ask me.But I do like the one with the HOTTIE on the bronco.

I guess I'm a traditionalist - because the thought of butter on my burger - oozing such as the picture up above - totally grosses me out. IMHO, burgers should be topped only with the following: pickles, onions, lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, mayo and/or cheese.

Well, those are indeed the toppings you'll see at your McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc, but I'm of the opinion that pretty much anything foodwise is potentially a burger topping.

20 years ago you'd never see mushrooms or blue cheese on a burger, today it's everywhere.

Anymore, unless I know I don't like the topping by itself - like bleu cheese, for example - I'll try it on a burger once.

One thing I recently tried: Steak n Shake offers a breakfast sandwich that is in essence a steakburger with cheese topped with a fried egg. Really, this is quite good.

On the matter of posting pics: the pic has to be accessible already via the internet, and then all you do is post it between two image tags, as explained in the link on this page (hunt for it, hehe) that says "Forum Code is on". You can't upload\paste an image to use on this site.

1) Find a pic on a web page that you want to post.
Example: there's a nice pic of a steak dinner at Doe's Place on the main page of this site today.

2) Get the url for the pic (right click, properties)
In this case, the url is http://www.roadfood.com/photos/mini_3245.jpg

3) Create a post with this url imbedded inside img tags

4) Here's what the resulting post will show

I can't wait to take a whack at this Huge Burger! Unfortunately there don't seem to be any Hardee's in NorthEast PA.

I guess I'm gonna have to drive to Hagerstown to try this burger. Of course I'll supersize it and order a Diet Coke. Why diet coke? because i like it and I save a millions calories and carbs. I'd rather eat them then swallow them, calories and carbs that is.

I used to get burgers with blue cheese on them at IHOP back in the '60s, when I was a wee rugrat. They were good!

There's an ancient drive-in in Sedalia, Mo., called "The Wheel Inn" or something like that. Their specialty: the "Goober Burger," a hamburger spread with peanut butter.

When a 1400 calorie burger just doesn't quite get the job done, our local paper just carried coupons for buy one, get one free.

Poverty: I got the same deal in my paper. I admit I am tempted to try since a member of my family tried the burger and enjoyed it. I have not been a fan of Hardees except for their bisquits which I will put those up to anyones. I think I will try the ad, give it my opinion and report back. I have heard several folks say that Hardees have it together on their burgers and that is why they are spending the bucks on the great burger give away. I do not know but I will give you my personal opinion.;
