OK. Stopped at Hardee's today, and, saw, for the first time, the ad and pic of the Smoked Sausage Thickburger. Hardlee Edible it looked like to me....that think looked NASTY. Has anyone ever tried one? I can't imagine the taste of Sausage and Beef on the same sandwich....

Hey, Rick, you ever been to Chicago? Not that I'm comparing Hardee's to a good Chicago beef combo, but the concept isn't totally foreign.

I think he is talking about the Breakfast Biscuit. Two pieces of Sausage on the usual Breakfast Biscuit. I tried them a couple of times and found them to taste like pieces of Hot Dog...Nothing to bother writing about.

Nope, it's not the breakfast biscuit. It's a lunch/dinner item...it's a big, think hamburger with a Smoked Sausage on TOP of it.....ugh

That's odd, it's NOT on their website that I can see. But it's heavily advertised on TV here in Indianapolis, and is at all the local Hardee's. I wonder if it's a regional thing?

You mean it's not a Mr. Beef's combo? ...and I was all set to go back to Hardee's. Ya gotta admit, though, a genuine Chicago Italian beef and sausage combo sandwich available in every Hardee's and Carl's Jr. in America would be a great thing!?

Hmmm, Maybe a test market? It is not on the menu at Southern Indiana/Louisville Hardee's. Doesn't sound all that good to me!

I'm not surprised that thing looks nasty. To me, all their thickburgers look gross. The Philly Cheese one in particular. If you want a cheesesteak, get a cheesesteak. If you want a burger, get a burger. I don't go into my local pizza place and say, "You know, I want Japanese too. Slap some sushi on that pie, will ya? And put a taco on top. Cover the whole thing with mashed potatoes and fried okra, I'm feeling Southern too."

OK. I stopped at the Hardee's where I saw this....it's on Crawfordsville Road just east of 465..... And, indeed, it is a 1/2 pound thickburger with a Smoked Sausage Link...a BIG one....on top of it. I spoke with the Mgr on duty, and he told me that is restaurant is in a "test market" and occasionally new menus items are tried at this restaurant. I took a good look at it....and couldn't bring myself to try it. So a burger and a shake for me :)

I agree. I cannot imagine a burger and a sausgage blending together to bring a good taste. I just had some great Texas sausage in several different places. I had them at Smitty's and Kreutz. Both were super and it changed my mind on BBQ sausage. I do not think that I will ever regress to insignificant sausage to improve the flavor of anything much less a burger. Paul E.
