...if not, please visit this amazing french bakery in Spanish Harlem, NYC...2131 1rst Ave, NY, 212-860-5324...
(yes, i did work there, but that was for a month back in 1994, and they are still turning out wonderful baked goods of all kinds...)

...over the years i've had their superb french bread, flaky croissants, almond pastries, fruit tarts, opera cake (great for a special occasion), and their signature pastry, La Tropezienne, stuffed with fresh whipped cream!

...the owners, Roger and his wife Mebe are lovely people and true masters of their craft...
