All of the Sonics in Overland Park don't sell them any more, have they stopped selling them everywhere?.

I was at Sonic yesterday (Columbia SC) and wanted to order Fritos chili and cheese. Not on the menu. That's the only thing I really liked at Sonic. They're now pushing chili cheese fries.

OH NO! Say it isn't so! I travel to NC/SC frequently and a Sonic Frito/Chili pie is one of the highlights of the trip!

The only Sonic I've ever been to is the one in Nelsonville, Ohio, and they've not had Frito pies on their menu in the eight or nine years I've been stopping there.

Frito chili pie does not sell well in the hotter months, so ours wiil advertise it again when it cools down.

I found out yesterday morning that Sonics is now in Southern California.

I drove the 37 miles to Anaheim last night just to have it.

The Chili Fritos were not on the menu, but the Coney Dog was along with a lemon cream thing (I forget the name, but it's a slush freeze), chocolate malt (yes I had 2 shake type drinks) and I washed it down with a limeade!

Before that the closest Sonics was in Bakersfield. I only go to Bakersfield when I have to drive through it to get to someplace else.

                I love Sonics drinks!

                The food is just okay.

Oh, I also shared onion rings. Is there sugar on them?

MAR 52-- You evaluation of SONIC agrees with mine 100%. I really like the drinks while we are on the road, but I ususally try to find other 'food' to go with them!
One small benefit of the drink thing is their "Happy Hour" 1/2 price drinks from 2-5pm on weekdays. That puts a large (44oz) slush in your hand for $ .75...and that is a bargain. I do enjoy the Cherry-Lime and Berry-Lemon slushes when we are on the road.
A Side Note- If you are hungry when you pass thru Bakersfield next time...stop at Hodels Buffet on the North side of town (Olive Ave. Exit off 99) Hodels is an old time buffet place with very good food, a lot of choices, and very family friendly prices(and very easy access to the freeway).

Don't get me wrong the food at sonic is pretty much poison, but I do like to eat it from time to time ;-d I really like the super sonic bacon cheeseburger yum. I am pretty dissapointed that they removed the fritos from the menu, I really like the frito chili cheese wrap.
