Having a senior moment...Help!

I remember as a kid in St. Louis eating sour cherry candies kind of like a lifesaver in a roll...but a tad more expensive. I think it may have been an English import. Can any anyone shed any light on this? Also DOes anyone remember Charms? havent seen those in years either.

Haven't heard about those in a very long time, but I do remember them. They were sort of square lifesavers, weren't they? More or less the same flavors, or were they a bit less sweet, maybe?

Mmmmmmmm-- I loved Royal Crown Sour Cherry candies! I wish they'd bring them back. Is there any sour cherry candy out there that compares to them?

I have good news for anyone who used to love and wishes they had Royal Crown Sour Cherry chandies. It is a product of the Coca Cola Company. It is the new "TaB energy" drink. When you get this drink, sip it, don't chug it. As you are sipping this drink, think of Royal Crown Sour Candy. it is the genuine flavor I used to enjoy from the candy. It brings back the memories of getting this kind of candy in my stocking on Christmas. Unfortunately, Royal Crown sours were imported from Gt. Britain and are not anymore. I believe the company was bought out and downsized to a micro market. I am still trying to get my hands on this candy. wish me luck and I hope that this Tab energy drink will help some of you with your missing nostalgia. let me know if this helped. ttyl

Crane developed a line of hard mints, but didn't have the space or machinery to make them. He contracted with a pill manufacturer to press the mints into shape. The pill manufacturer, whose machinery was malfunctioning, found that the pressing process worked much better when the mints were stamped with a hole in the middle.

Crane called the new candy "Crane's Peppermint Life Savers," because they looked like miniature throwable life preservers. The ring-shaped devices were just beginning to come into use after the Titanic disaster.
