Hebrew National are good as far as commercial hot dogs go, but I usually side with Nathan's, something about the spices in the dog I just can't resist - maybe it's because I was raised on them.

Which is sad because I have a great distributor for Kayems and none for Hebrew National's.

    :(

Here in SC, I cant get Kayems,(love the red)-- and although I love HN, I miss the dogs of New England.. Many frankfurters/hot dogs are just not available to us down south.
And, To get them online is prohibitive.

I've been eating Aaron's in place of HN. Ballpark Kosher is also a good alternative. I have found HN to be less meaty and chewier.

I was in the Shop Rite on Sunday, to buy the original recipe Coca Cola(kosher for Passover) because I've heard that it contains sugar like it did when I was a kid, rather than the cheaper high fructose corn syrup. While there, I checked the hot dog selection and noticed that Abeles & Heymann Bison Hot Dogs are now available. By the way, I purchased the original recipe coke (with sugar)and the regular coke, and tasted them side by side. I actually preferred the current Coke with corn syrup. The Original Recipe or kosher Coke is indeed sweeter, but I guess I'm so used to drinking the current version that I prefer it to the original.

Give me Vienna Beef or Give me DEATH!

I mean seriously, its like a sirloin steak in hot dog form people. And they do have kosher ones, I know. Ex Boyfriend would only eat kosher, so we did research.

Thats a bold statement that Vienna carries kosher hot dogs. Bold, and false. I'd love to know where you get your secret stash.

If you like Hebrew National, then you definitely should try to find a genuine Jewish Delicatessen that sells loose kosher beef hot dogs (with casing) by the pound. They're bigger and more substantial than packaged dogs and delicious either fried or boiled. They're also fantastic for beans-and-franks. Oh, and do yourself a favor and order a corned beef and/or pastrami on rye. And matzo ball soup!
