Hey, does anybody remember this treat from the '70's? They came in a tin with six cupcakes and the cupcakes were frozen. I don't know if it was a local New York thing or what, but, it is just driving me crazy! Please help!

I could be wrong, but I think that they were Sara Lee. The box had 6 yellow cakes, each with a different frosting. A couple as I recall were cream ("creme"?) filled. I have not seen them in years. We stopped buying them as well as the "Baby Watson" cheesecake after the kids and the middle age spread came along.

You got me thinking about the darn things. Now I really miss them. Thanks a lot! I guess it is just as well they don't make them anymore. I miss those Dressels frozen cakes too. None are exactly roadfood though. I think of roadfood as something I eat in the car, or at a roadside eatery.

This is so weird. I just did a search for those cupcakes and it came up with this site. I thought I was the only one who remembered those things. Here's what I know: They were six cupcakes to a tin and frozen and they came in flavors like chocolate with chocolate icing and I think even yellow cupcake with chocolate icing too. The icing was really sticky sweet. We always used to get them and we lived in Florida. But the really weird thing I remember is they were made by a company called Stauffer. I remember those and the Morton's Honey Buns.
