Help with sardines

I brought back from Greece a 1/2 kilo tin of salted sardines. I opened them tonight. They're dry and salty. After rinsing off the salt, they're still scaly and salty. What am I supposed to do with these fishies?

Unless someone else has had experience specifically with salt sardines, I would guess you could probably treat them and use them like salt cod, making cakes, chowder, etc. Here is a recipe using salted sardines with pasta: http://italianfood.about.com/od/fishsauces/r/blr1408.htm

Feeding them to the cat would only bring PETA down on my ass.

That would go on an appetizer platter with other greek appetizer foods, feta, stuffed grape leaves, kalamata olives. Pick and eat and drink.

I looked at all the pictures at your suggested website, Davydd, and without exception, they all look MUCH better than mine. When I got home this afternoon, the house stunk of fish, so it's all gone now.
