Hello together; I would like to introduce myself times briefly. My name is Markus and I comes from Germany, more exactly said the Ruhr district where the soccer world championship takes place now shortly. Since I am unfortunately unemployed however, I sat down on the ideas my distorting shank in the USA and would like to bring the Hot Dog to the Germans in all its leckeren variants more near. Thus briefly said I would like to buy a Hot Dog Cart and sell mobilely Dogs. Since one does not know these in such a way yet in Germany. Therefore I am dependent on you and gladly by you leckere prescriptions would become acquainted with, with which I can loose-go then on the people, thus it the fingers to lick itself! Many greetings from Germany! Markus

During my Google and Yahoo searches, I've seen many cart vendors (and their stories) in the UK. You should have no problem finding a cart overseas there, saving costs on exporting one from the US. You may want to visit http://www.sausagemaking.org which I beleive originates in the UK. Someone in the forums there may be able to help you find something more local there. Good luck on your venture! Keep us posted on how things work out.. Both the ups and downs would be good to hear.

Ok, best thanks. So, now I have still another question, use your original Hot Dog of sausages, if there are those at all, or take its Wiener, Frankfurter sausage. I believe I kindle just one faith-ask!

Look up http://www.ebay.de/ and type in 'hot dog cart' (I came up with a few hits), or 'concession' (you may have to translate since the site is in German).. Hot Dogs around here are also refered to as Wieners and Frankfurters, and sometimes Red Hots... Not sure on your question there..

Markus, Portofcall, a Roadfood member has a hot dog cart business in the UK. Look under "Members" for his e-mail. He's a wealth of European hot dog information. I would seek out a local sausage maker in your area that sells the most popular product and discuss your needs with that person. It will enable you to purchase fresh product and not have to freeze anything. @ UncleVic: in Germany there are a few dealer, who sell hot dogs, it here designates it Hot dog as original American my asks whether there are actually originals hot dog, particularly since history says, which was as the all first a Frankfurt sausage in 1915! And too Ebay Germany, I point that it hot dog carts there and I`m goint to buy one there. My question therefore went rather since you as professionals know which your people tastes, and I only had tolook where I such things as for example sweet cucumber relish or other one relish gets ago.

If I understand your question correctly, you want to know what kinds of toppings to offer your customers to give them an American hot dog experience. If you read all through the "Hot Dogs, Sausages & Bratwursts" section, you will find that there are many different favorite toppings offered depending on what area of the U. S. the hot dogs are sold, and no two areas of the U. S. agree on what are the best toppings. Meat sauce (like chili without beans), cole slaw or sauerkraut, mustard (yellow or brown), sweet or dill pickle (cucumber) relish or pickle slices, chopped fresh or cooked onions, and sliced tomatoes (or even catsup) are all favorites at one place or another in the U. S. Some of these toppings (like the meat sauce) you could make yourself if you couldn't easily buy it already made, others would be too hard to make and you would have to try to buy them. Some of the other people on Roadfood might be able to help you more on that.

Oooops, Sorry Markus, I was not meaning anything like that. When I was a younger man I was in the Army in Germany. We,(The Possum Club), used to make regular trips to Nurenberg for the festivals and the frolic. We used to drink lots of beer and then head down to the old Wall for all the other vices and superfluites of life that interest young men at that period of life. I did not mean anything bad. As a matter of fact I loved Germany. Sometimes when life gets me on the ropes, my mind wanders back to those days there. Sometimes our memories are all we really own. Good luck on the Hot Dog cart, and kiss a couple of those beautiful German girls for me!

I have been to Nurenburg several times. I particularly enjoyed the old city where the streets are brick and there are many fine shops and great restaurants. Great sausages and beer. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

When I think Nurenberg I think of fast driving or is it Nuremberg? Where you can race what ever you want against the clock, on a public race course....

The "Ring" is located in Koblenz. www.nbring.com It's open to the public throughout the year during non racing events. There are specific days and times for cars and for motorcycles. You purchase a ticket, go through a toll gate, and off your go. The "Ring" is 18 miles through the mountains with 133 turns(some are completely blind). It's easy to run off this track and crash. Fortunately, corner workers are monitoring the "Ring" at various locations. Don't be suprised to see everything and anything on this track including tour busses and huge trucks. Be sure to expereince the large indoor go cart track while visiting the "Ring." CSD Born in Chicago Raised in Chicago Moved to Wisconsin Selling Vienna Beef hot dogs & Polish
