    It's very good mixed with cream cheese to make a sandwich spread with fresh cucumbers layered on top of the cream cheese.

    Similar to 30+ years ago when I used blue cheese with burgers. As an aside, kids today seem to love ranch dressing on everything. Last time I visited with a teen and family, ranch dressing was applied to pizza.

    It's one of those little flat bag things that has taken up permanent residence in my pantry.
     
    I think I bought it for a slow cooker recipe that was never made... years ago.

    Using the bottled version instead of mayo, I add some ketchup to make a more interesting version of Thousand Island dressing.

    I recently used the HV seasoning in mayo for a potato salad.   The recipe called for HV dressing & mayo.  I cut out the 'runny' dressing for the seasoning and more mayo & a little mustard.    ... The group only left about a small handful of salad out of 6+ lbs of potato salad.  ... anyway I liked it.

    agnesrob - my mom was "Nanny" to the grandkids and used to makes those snacks for them.   My brother does something similar with mini pretzel twists, I'll have to ask for the recipe.

    Don't let the oil put you off from trying this, everything gets absorbed and it's not greasy.  It's not overpowering but there's definitely a little kick to them.  If you like things milder, halve the cayenne. 
              
                                           Pretzel Snacks 
     
    1 lb. bag of small pretzel twists
    1 tsp. lemon pepper
    1/2 tsp onion powder
    1/2 tsp cayenne
    1 envelope Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
    3/4 cup vegetable oil, warmed 45 sec. in microwave
     
    Add pretzels to a container with a tight-fitting lid.  In a small mixing bowl whisk together the dry ingredients, and pour over pretzels.  Tighten lid, turn upside down a couple of times.  Add warmed oil to pretzel mix, and turn upside down and back a couple of times.  Do this 2-3 times a day over a 2 day period.  Pretzels will have absorbed everything and be read to eat after 2 days.

    I love using canned asparagus!!! Especially for my Eggs Benedict!

    I use the powder form to make my "steakhouse" potato salad.  ALWAYS a hit at pitch ins and never any left.
     
    I also love ranch on just about anything:
     
    Pizza
    burgers
    hotdogs
    sausages
    potatoes
    salad
    fish stix
    I go through the super size bottle in about 1 months time.

    I think Hidden Valley is the best ranch of them all.  I just like it with salad, carrot sticks, celery sticks.  Never could get the taste of it on meats or anything else.  I'd much rather have Maries light blue cheese dressing on those things.

    I don't use the HV brand powder or prepared dressing, but a institutional knock-off that tastes near identical and make it by the recommended recipe. My addition to it, is lime juice, sugar,pureed chipoltes packed in adobo and cumin to make a chipotle ranch.
     
    The main problem with most chipotle ranch dressing recipes is they are often too hot if made using chipotle powder or pureeing the canned peppers as is. I think I've written about this before and what I do with the peppers to drop the heat.
     
     This is my chipotle ranch dressing/sauce I used to make  for some of the wraps we served. I've also used prepared institutional dressing with the above which ends up tasting different and pretty similar to Marie Callander's brand chipolte ranch.

    I've made the ranch potatoes that's on some of the packets. Very tasty. I REALLY miss Hellmann's ranch dressing. Lord that stuff was good.
