Thanks for sharing, Jim. Loved the video!

Check his 'channel'; he has a bunch of them.

Aside from his pitmaster skills I admire his business acumen.  He knows all too well that if he were to open other locations quality control (and his now near legendary reputation) would soon go out the window.  So, he's chosen a media path and PBS, given his low-key personality, is perfect for him.

Is it time for Hitler's review of Franklin's again?  Hell, yes!

As I had posted it several times before I hesitated before posting it again.  So, I'm glad that it is 'new' to some!

With all great respect Jim, and I certainly don't mean to take anything away from you but, I'm quite sure I was the first person to show the "Hitler BBQ rant" video on Roadfood a few years back in May, 2011.

I don't know which applies here:

  • Great minds think alike.
  • Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I'll say both!

If you watch the Hitler BBQ documentary, you'll note that Adolf has a rather low opinion of Salt Lick

The Salt Lick has good food but is a great experience. Louie Muellers, Franklins and others are both great food and great experience (except the wait at Franklins).

Yes. And there is good reason for that.

Salt Lick in Driftwood, yes. Salt Lick in Round Rock, not. Went there twice and was disappointing both times.

Don't be coy, let's tell them why ...

At Salt Lick, barbecue is a verb.
