This past May I had an early lunch at SOHO South Cafe, 12 W. Liberty Street in Savannah - (912) 233-1633. My friends and I enjoyed our lunch and the restaurant. I had the Cuban Pannini - very good - as was the Southwestern potato salad. Our favorite place for dinner is Charley's Crab, 2 Hudson Road, Hilton Head Isle. The gazpacho is some of the best I've ever had and the seafood is very good. You can eat outside if it's not too hot and muggy. Lots of choices in their large menu offerings.

My wife and I love Savannah..Just know in the summer, it is really hot and humid. The Fall and Spring seasons are best IMHO. We also had lunch at the SOHO South Cafe last year (they were not serving dinner then) and we also liked it a lot. My wife is an artist and she really liked it. Local artists display their work throughout the restaurant. It is a very interesting restaurant. I had an Angus burger and my wife had a curried chicken sandwich I believe? Both were very, very food. A young lady was the Chef'Owner at the time. Probably still is. She wrote me a nice thank you..There is a review of this place on roadfood.com if you do a search.

Assuming you're going 77 to 26 to 95 (?) I would suggest a couple of places depending on when you're there/when you're hungry. If you get off 77 onto Two Notch Rd in Columbia (this would be before the switch to 26) and turn left, go about two miles, there will be a Rush's Hamburgers and a Lizard's Thicket on your right. Either would do; I'd give the nod to Rush's. If you leave pretty early and eat late afternoon, you could hit the Duke's Barbecue in Walterboro off 95--you can't miss the signs. Duke's is pretty awesome for a barbecue buffet.
