Hittin up a bar tonight...
Fri, 08/8/08 10:35 PM
( permalink)
After running my cart for about a week or two an owner of a local bar approached me and we talked awhile before we came upon a deal where I would stand outside his bar from 12-2:30ish and sell dogs to the drunkards. I'm set to do it tonight in about an hour and a half and I have no idea what to expect really, except for the fact that I will be dealing with the drunkest of the drunk. What I was wondering is if anyone has any exp. with the bar scene and has any tips for me? It's very well-protected (bouncers, police occasionally) so I don't think safety will be an issue, except for hauling the cart back and forth between my house (luckily only a 5 min walk away)... Whatever you guys could throw my way would be awesome!

Got completely soaked, didn't get stabbed or robbed, did about $200 in sales, didn't get heckled to the point of anger, overall... Good night.

He started as a dog newbie who was setting up and starting his business, with some worries about success. He has worked hard and the last I heard from him here, he was doing well. I suspect and hope that he has been too busy to post lately. mark

I used to own a chicken and rib joint in Jersey, and most of our business was delivery. Some of our best customers were Drunks! Actually my first customer on the day I opened the place was a half blimd S#$# faced drunk guy named Gil who staggered in and placed a nice order (his wife was driving). He became a regular customer for delivery and would be standing at his door in his underwear drunk with a big Koolaid smile waiting for his order !lol! I had regular customers who would stagger in from one of the nearby bars and I would "deliver "them home with their order.Drunks spend money without thinking "spend like a drunken sailor". I'm glad you had a good night. The food business owes alot to Drunks!!lol!!
