We were in a pizza-making mood today and decided to try some different toppings. The first is using my wife's homemade tomato mango salsa. Just thought we'd try it and see what happened - what did we have to lose? - turns out it was fantastic! The clam pizza is an homage to Frank Pepe's white clam pizza - the one I made had 2 dozen fresh clams on it. The third one is using fresh tomatoes from our garden and the last is just a traditional cheese pizza, only I used leftover pasta sauce instead of pizza sauce.
Homemade Tomato-Mango Salsa Pizza
This was excellent! Prepared the crust, from
Trader Joe's, with garlic-infused olive oil,
grilled for about a minute, added some mozzarella
cheese, then topped with our homemade
tomato-mango salsa. It was incredible!
Fresh clams Pizza
This was very good! Prepared the crust, from
Trader Joe's, with garlic-infused olive oil,
grilled for about a minute, added some mozzarella
cheese, then topped it with fresh chopped clams
and some of our own fresh oregano. Very tasty!
Fresh from our Garden Tomato Pizza
This pizza was made using our home grown
tomatoes. The crust, from Trader Joe's, was
brushed with garlic-infused olive oil, grilled
for about a minute, then we added mozzarella and
grated cheese, and topped it all off with fresh,
sliced tomatoes and a bit of dried oregano. We
also added some of our fresh basil right when it
came off the grill. Delicious!
Cheese Pizza
This is a traditional cheese pizza, the only
thing we did differently was use some leftover
pasta sauce.
