Hook Lobster Boston

I awoke this morning to see an old Boston landmark going up in flames. The Hook Lobster Co. has been a local institution for over 80 years. It sat on a pier on the corner of Summer and Atlantic Ave. A very visable location to locals and tourists alike. It's a shame but I doubt the city will let them rebuild on the same location, time will tell. Chow Jim

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I recall that they own it, but with the greenway going up, it is hard to imagine that it will be easy for them to rebuild.

Hook the Crook?! Sounds a little suspicious to me. Even though the building was delapidated, it was, after all, built on WATER. And inside were lobsters IN WATER. I doubt the City will allow them to rebuild. After all, it was a rat-infested area.

I'm from Boston & it was truly one of those places that gave Boston a bit of charm & reminded people of Bostons fishing history. It will be missed.

And on the following day another fire in the wholesale meat market area. A Lamb and Veal distributor went up in flames. Surf and Turf anyone? Chow Jim

Apparently they are attempting to rebuild on that location. They would like to add a full service restaraunt according to my inside sources. Chow Jim
