That lawsuit is asinine. What possible "trade secrets" could this former VP steal?

The concept is simple. A 15 year old boy could have thought it up. Young, large brested females in tight clothing and shorts, serving fast food and beer with sports on various televsions. Add a tasteless name and there you have it.

This is another post. I am the OP. I think the lawsuit is asinine and ridiculous, and the only reason this crap happens is that it makes lawyers money, and a company's petty vindictiveness to a competitor with the same moronic concept.

Twinwillow

In Dallas, we have two new Hooter's "wannabe's".
No joke ~  "Twin Peaks" and, "Burger Girls".

Twin, you forgot about Bonedaddy's.  http://www.bonedaddys.com/

Not only do they have by far the best food in that "segment", their "wait-costume" is more "thought-provoking"than Hooters' and the others you mentioned.

Jim,

I have driven past the location on Spring Valley on numerous occasions.  I always thought the name was cute, but didn't even realize that this was their business....umm...segment?

You said that the food is best in this (again) "segment," but is it worth a stop? Or, are you just saying that it is better than Hooter's?

Yes.  I would go there "just" for the food which is a cut above even Red, Hot, & Blue's (if you are familiar with that chain which is patterned on Corky's of Memphis).

Twin Peaks is native to Dallas.  It has better food and "scenery" than Hootershttp://www.twinpeaksrestaurant.com/

I guess that Hooters is concerned about the fact that, in the past five years, they have gone from one location in Plano to twenty now in seven states.

I don't know that Hooters can do about "this" except suck it up and improve their sorrowful food and service.  What else could they to do?  Copyright the restaurant names "Boy Toys", "Fun Bags", "Ta-Ta's", "Motor Boater's", "Pushin' Cushion's", etc.?  Good luck on that!

Telling people you're going to Hooter's for the food is like telling people you read Playboy for the stories.

This reminds me of another reason for the decline of Hooter's:  "political correctness".

The last time I went (and the first time I had gone since the early '90's) was a few months ago as the guest of a colleague and her young children who love the wings on 50 cent wing night.  Beginning with our six-months-pregnant hostess, still in "uniform", I was struck by the -- to put it politely -- "ordinary" level of pulcritude that characterized the wait-staff.  It was almost as if they had picked out their wait-staff from the first fifteen women aged 18 - 35 strolling into the local Wal-Mart on a given Tuesday.  Making these individuals wear that "uniform" only made the scene more grotesque.

I can only conclude that this is the so very sad result of frivolous lawsuits.  First, God cannot be acknowledged publicly, then the American Flag cannot be worn on Cico de Mayo, and now no hooters worth ogling in Hooters'!   No wonder Shakespeare wrote: "First, let us kill the lawyers".

My only visit to Hooters took place 17 years ago, when I entered a local store to buy a shirt for my then 'girlfriend' Janet. The years have passed and she still wears the "golf Shirt" rather nicely, if I do say so myself. The store is still quite busy and has attracted several of my sons who are now introducing their sons (and a couple of daughters) to the wonders of the Hooter's image and menu. I have yet to do a second visit, but then I don't much care for Buffalo Wings, and I can't remember why scantily-clad young food servers are supposed to attract my attention.

Yes, times are tough and the chains are retrenching.  Even here in fast-growing and high-income McKinney, TX we have recently lost our TGIF's, Ruby Tuesday's, and (" />oh, no!" />) our Twin Peaks

For some reason our Hooter's (with the pregnant hostess and her WalMart refugee colleagues) remains open.
