Here in Northern VA you can only buy cherry and apple and, very rarely, lemon. Last week at a service plaza on the Ohio turnpike I found strawberry for the first time ever! It was yummy! I even thought of this forum when I saw it because there's usually an active thread discussing Hostess pies anytime I sign on.

Lemon is virtually impossible to find in the New York/New Jersey area, in Hostess or Drakes. Luckily for us fish & chips lovers, Entenmanns makes a pretty decent hand-held lemon pie. Now if I could only SPELL the name of the bakery without having to look it up...

Yeah, Strawberry isn't as common as the others and I think is only around summer/spring. Most 7-11s or the like around here generally have cherry, lemon, apple, chocolate with the occasional peach/strawberry thrown in. still searching for the elusive blackberry...since freshchocodiles.com turned out to be a joke. Never seen the Entenmann's pies in a story--which is odd, because every grocer around here has a huge Entemann's display. The Hostess outlet by my house currently has pie for .59 each, limit 10. Sucks for me, as I am limiting myself to 1 a week. :(

To all the blackberry pie lovers I just discovered that Little Debbie actually has their own Blackberry pie. I bought 2 at 75 cents a piece and gave one to my mom who used to get the Hostess brand ones out of the vending machine where she used to work. I forgot to ask her how well she liked it, but I thought it tasted pretty good. The box says Blackberry pie not Berry so there is hope for all us.

I only just found the Little Debbie Blackberry pies a couple weeks ago up in Northern Michigan. Damn good. I did notice the Little Debbie pies seem to look and taste EXACTLY like the JJ's fruit pies. Still no luck finding Hostess Blackberry. And there is no way I am going to attempt ordering them again :(

WOw, just ran into this Youtube videos of dude searching stores for Little Debbie Fruit Pies (which are vegan). And at the 1:40 mark you actually see a REAL Hostess Blackberry Pie! Heard they exist out West, never seen a pic of the wrapper or anything. I tried ordering some--you can see how that turned out earlier in this thread. But, WOW! I really need to find a way to try one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ngcaf5ljmBU

That youtube video has a lot of clues. That Snack Attack shop is/was in Banning, CA. The IBC careers page shows a Hostess bakery at: Hostess Bakery 6007 S. St. Andrews Place Los Angeles, CA 90047 323-753-3521

Do you think if I showed up there & asked for some they would produce blueberry pies?

SD, On page 1, message #7, Kevaxe indicated he contacted Interstate Bakeries and they advised the Blueberry pies were discontinued. That LOSA address is also on the list of thrift stores that Interstate Bakeries operates. Per IBC's web site, they list Hostess bakeries in Los Angeles, CA, Henderson, NV, and Seattle, Washington. That video also showed Hostess pies at a 'am/pm 'convenience store. Between the two locations, I only saw apple, cherry, blackberry, and lemon pies. Those may have been the seasonal flavors.

Yep, Blueberry has been discontinued--which is mind boggling. I mean, that would have to sell more than...Lemon, for instance??? Wonder what the reason is for that particular flavor (Blackberry) only available out west. You think at some point they would try a trial wider shipment of it or something, I dunno. As far as seasonal flavors, I have gotten the impression that Blackberry was very common. Here in Michigan Apple, Cherry, Chocolate, and Lemon can be found all year long and pretty much every place that has Hostess has them. Strawberry is spring/summer. And Peach winter/fall...though I think I have seen it in the spring too.

The Little Debbie Blackberry pies are showing up by my house now. Looks like they are increasing the circulation of the pies, maybe, as they are becoming more common in their snack displays.

I'm a hostess pie junkie. Eat one almost everynight. Common flavors here in Oregon are Apple, Cherry, Blackberry and Lemon. We use to have Peach, Strawberry and the Pudding ones but I haven't seen those in years. Never seen a Pineapple or French Apple.

I'd be happy to ship blackberry pies. Honor system on postage reimbursement but it's no big thang. Frito Lay Munchos have also popped up again here after 20 years. From nuthin to 2 big grocery chains in the same week. And only $2. per bag, printed on the front.

I always wondered about them printing the prices on the bag. Doesn't the market want to set their own prices and possibly offer discounts and such? Does anyone have insight as to why and when they do this? It seems to be only with snack items...you never see it on cereal. Chips usually have it but not always, as goes with pretzels...and TastyKakes....and Little Debbie...I wonder why this is.

To those who have PM'd me about the pies, 2 things: I can read them, but not respond. Glitch I guess but I don't have the time or desire to deal with it now. Also, there was a run on Hostess last week when they were 10/$10 at the store I go to. I take the bus so I can't just pop around. As soon as I can snatch them up I will send 'em out. So prepare those insulin pumps.
