Not just Hot Dogs,we do BBQ Ribs,Pulled Pork Sandwiches,a Breakfast sandwich and Biscuits and gravy..
We are in a high-end area for weathly Snow-Birds from N.Y. N.J. and the Upper east coast..We charge top dollar for this area..My numbers are PRIVATE..they would not apply to u anyway, unless u were here and served the same things as we do..U'll just have to take the average and figure 234 bux for every 100 dogs..One of the cart builders has it all broken down for u..Find a Very good location and take u'r chances..Personality and how u deal with people and communicate is worth as much as good food, but Location is KING!!

Try offering drive up service. Place a sign in front of the cart, let them roll down their window and place the order. I doubt anyone would get out of the car and stand there in the wind chills and snow..

The carts in downtown Columbus, and in front of The Ohio State University Medical Center are sure busy in winter.

    Hi

Good question to post. Probably wont find many operators willing to share what their gross sales are.
Yes I agree that the location is the prime factor. More foot traffic = more sales.
    One big pro:
The beauty about the cart and any operator will agree. Your mobile. Very easy to relocate if the location doesnt work or changes in some way.

    One big con:

Your business out in the weather. You can enclose it somewhat with a canopy and sides.

Go to your local city or county web site. There will be a link to the health or environmental health division. In there will be a link to the food permit or restaurant permit section. If not just call the main health dept phone number and they will put you in contact will a sanitarian (food inspector).
