Looking at using 6/1 or 5/1 hotdogs what are people paying per hot dog for that size bought in bulk? My price quote is between .40 and .50 cents per hot dog. Thanks

Oh...um...right. I should know this off the top of my head. Jeez, I'm losing it. Keep your margins around 80%. I buy the Hoffy Premium frank from Costco. Them things are delicious and you can sell them for $2 each with that margin. I have an Excel spreadsheet that computes everything once you put in the basic product costs. Anyone that wants it can email me and I'll send it to you. I find Vienna products too pricey to maintain margins.

I use to be in the hot dog business. We sold a 6/1 natural casing all beef dog made by Marathon Enterprises in New Jersey. Really is nothing better IMHO. Not sure what they cost today.

Good ? RSS72.. At retail, I'm paying 40 cents ea. for Koegles.. (varies between 7/1 to 8/1). These are NC, Hardwood smoked Vienna's and vary with market price. Last time I was buying bulk dogs, from GFS for their generic pork/beef, they ran about a dime or so each (10 years ago). Those where 10/1 dogs, with no casing... But customers bought them up left and right.. Be interesting to see what the prices around the country are..

20 cents a dog for my all beef. People like them better than the little Hebrew Nationals, which run around 32 cents. I live in Denver.

Sams all beef frozen. Regular bun fron my commisary. They sell better than my Hebrewnatls. They look and grill up nicer, too. I don't think they would be great boiled, but no dog is. They hold up well also. I was paying even more for some local beef dogs which a lot of vendors use, but they turned kinda green after holding too long.

The Stage Deli at the MGM is using a new dog. I believe it's called Kosher Select. Anyone know anything about it?
