I may be wrong but it seems to me there are about at least a dozen threads on this very topic. Perhaps if some may have a interest, a search may be in order.

Sundancer! It's National Hot Dog Month... Tastes change over times also... Reading these threads, 6 months ago I never would have mentioned Cole Slaw over a chili dog topped with mustard and onions! (And if you haven't tried it, it's worth it!)... Though I did learn about this new topping reading the old threads, seems like there's always something new to share.

Mustard (YELLOW, not brown...) and ketchup, both together on the same dog...method of application as follows: mustard along one side, ketchup along the other side, then give the dog a twirl to mix

Right now it's chilli, cheese and onions, or cheese, mustard, ketchup, onions and relish. Luv the dogs lots of ways. Boar's Head are my favorites.

What I definitely do NOT want on my hot dog is whatever that is on top of the dog in the photo from Bill's Drive-In in today's front page. I love a good chili dog, but I do not wish to eat a hot dog that looks like someone has had a very bad nosebleed over it.

It depends on the frank brand.

                      Nathan's:
None necessary but if in the mood
                      mustard and kraut

                      Sabretts:
kraut and those Sabrett sauteed onions fugituboutit!!!

                      Vianna:

                      Mustard and kraut

                      Hebrew Nationals :
                      Mustard and Kraut

For the most part I keeps it NY deli style!!!

In my hometown we put mustard (similiar to goldens) on the dog. (Hoffman's brand)
                        That's it.
Anything else was gauche. In fact, the best place to get Hoffman's hotdogs was at Heid's, and they didn't have anything else but mustard!

In NC, their hotdog meat tastes like dog...so put on the topings!
All the way - Chili, Cole Slaw with mustard and raw onions. I was a bit shocked moving from a one condiment on the hotdog town, to putting side dishes on top, but hey...when in Rome!

I like chili on my sabrette or maybe some slow cooked onions.

In DC, I get mustard and 'Kraut on my half smoke. Which isn't really a hotdog, but I can't bring myself to call it a sausage either
