Hot Hotdogs

From USA Today: Folks who regard hot dogs as mystery meat may be in for an aquatic surprise: salmon franks. That's right, hot dogs, made from imported salmon. On whole-grain buns, no less. They'll be out later this month, at $3.49, when gourmet hot dog chain Franktitude is scheduled to open its first of five eateries in the Miami area. Then, there are Franktitude's 25 toppings — from Wasabi mayo to artichokes to banana chips. More are on tap, says CEO Ari Wurmann. I wonder why "imported salmon"? Alaska, Washington, Oregon have some of the best salmon in the world, bar none. I think I might consider them more a sausage too. Love to try one.

Lots of other fascinating upscale and different hotdog variations are mentioned - I think tortilla and pita hotdogs are gonna become the rage soon - get on the bandwagon before you get sideswiped by a smarter purveyor..

I've bought Salmon hot dogs at Whole Food Market here in Baton Rouge. They're...Ok. Prolly better at the place in Miami. Hasn't that place been around for a while...seems like I've seen it on Travel Channel.
