Well, at least chicagostyledog cleared up the difference between a dog with a natural casing and a skinless dog...

An apology to I95 concerning matters of taste? Now that is a funny concept. I guess the mayor's concern over this thread was merited, but while the cat's away...... And why is Dr. Katz so happy in that picture? Did someone get a 2 for 1 special?

I95, Apology retracted, especially since you know that Dr.Katz makes a great living just from his tips.

Grampy's Mark Twain. I'm P.J. O'Rourke. (BTW, as a Virginia resident, I couldn't be Mark Twain because I believe him to be more factual than humorous when he quipped that when the end of the world comes, he wanted to be in Virginia because everything in Virginia happens 25 years later.)

That's funny! I thought first of P.J.O'Rourke, then Dennis Miller, but invoking dead men and cartoon characters was safer. I don't want "no stinking thread " devoted to me sending greetings. No sir! This was our favorite KC clown: http://www.kshs.org/cool3/graphics/whizzocardlg.jpg sincerely, Rory B. Bellows

Actually, Whizzo was rather sadistic to the kids that got on the show. I still remember distinctly the contests he had that consisted of balloons on the end of of an Electrolux. Whichever balloon/kid combo exploded first was the winner. Gawd, I loved that show. He almost seemed the prototype for Krusty, except we had the addition of Whizzodog, sort of like Krypto. cheers, Rory

He was the most popular man in KC. An icon. To an 8 year old, yes, his name was quite humorous. Actually it may be funnier now.I went to school with a girl whose dad was a fellow clown in KC. (he was the local Ronald McDonald) who verified that Whizzo didn't much care for kids. I never could grasp the nationwide appeal of Bozo when we had a much more worldly, cosmopolitan clown in our midst in KC. Much like hotdogs, though, there are plenty of regional favorites, but someone has to be the Oscar Meyer.

I still wanna know what cuts he was referring to....but I'll tell ya, I haven't been on in a few days, and the after-schtick was perfect. The mohel who "did" my nephew Mykel on my former sis-in-law's dining toom table was like 80 and had shaky hands - people were peeking out from behind their hands. I turned my head. Following is a picture of his SON, also a mohel (and 64 now; my nephew's not 20 yet), so you can imagine how frightened people were that the father was doing it and not the son...

I know I'll run the risk here of appearing less than serious but surgeons have been known to use these same "cuts" -- because of their similar thin membrane composition -- as skin-graft like substitutes for children born without eyelids. The only problem is that these same kids later grew-up cockeyed.

I knew the dining room growing up was for holidays and special occasions, but Shayna's Mom's In-laws take that to a whole new level.

there was a mohel from Detroit who was arrested on DUI charges a while back, and he was on his way to a bris. His excuse? He had just come from a bris, and had just been drinking the ceremonial wine.

The best reassurance you can get is to buy kosher hot dogs, such as Hebrew National. Even better are the ones sold at Jewish delicatessens. All phases of production, from the slaughtering of the cows (which is required to be done as humanely as possible), to the finished product, is done under the supervision of rabbis, in strict adherence to Jewish dietary law and guaranteed to be pure beef. Just look for the word "kosher" on the package.
