They were motoring on Interstate 55 near Livingston in Madison County when Lola Lucas and Kevin Brown looked west. There they saw an authentic, and very weird, piece of Springfield history along the highway outside The Pink Elephant Antique Mall. It was the long-forgotten House of the Future.

      We have one of those between Quinlan and Rockwall Texas. It's been there for 20 years or more.

        Houses of the future never seem to resemble real houses of the future.
