I've lived all my life in the Houston area and have passed by Dot's Coffee Shop MANY times without ever stopping. Two nights ago my daughter and I were up in Houston and decided that if it has been in business for over Forty years, they must be doing something right! So we stopped and I am so glad we did.
We split the very large chicken fried steak. It was DELISH! Best one I have had in a long time. We chose homemade mashed potatoes (all covered in cream gravy of course), green beans and carrot salad. All very good and all homemade.
The homemade rolls were awesome and it was a dang good cup of coffee too!
