How Cheap Is YOUR Gas?

Dearfolk, Yesterday I filled Van Ella up for $1.97.9 for regular. Since Blanch The Cadillac takes only premium (she's an expensive date), I can now afford to keep her fed. Malcolm, the SYSCO salesman, tells me of a place in between Hartwell and Bowman, Georgia (a BP station) that is at $1.71 a gallon and dropping. "I've seen similar prices on Thornton Road in Lithia Springs and along Forest Parkway in Forest Park," he added. How's your gas prices going? -- I'd especially like to know about New Jersey, which has consistently been one of the cheapest gas-up states I've ever visited. Not Eating Here And Getting Gas, Ort. Carlton in High-Octane Athens, Georgia.

My trip from Cincinnati to Mexico Beach had quite a range of prices. $1.91 at home before I left $1.76 around the KY/TN border $2.29 in Montgomery $2.06 around FL/AL border $2.19 here at Mexico Beach Sure beats the prices this summer of around $4.00/gallon

This area of New Jersey has (usually) been one of the least expensive places for a fill up. New Jersey is a full service only state, but I live somewhat close to the refineries in Linden. Today, the cheapest price I saw was $2.21 a gallon.

$2.10 and falling (for now). OPEC is expected to cut production by 1 million barrels a day due to global demand destruction. Their economies depend on oil being at much higher price levels.

$1.95 on the north side of Grand Rapids, MI. First time I've seen under two bucks a gallon in I don't remember how long. I was so surprised I almost drove into the car in front of me.

In west suburban Chicago, it dropped Wednesday to $2.19 per gallon. Our high, at the same station I regualarly patronize was approximately $4.59 per gallon at the peak. Outside the large Chicagoland area, it is under $2.00. BTW - Our supplies were not influenced by the hurricanes this season as apparantly, our fuel comes from Canada.

Here in Central PA, it varies -- under $2.00 per gallon in Mechanicsburg, a little over $2.00 in Dillsburg, a little over $2.10 in Hanover. Unfortunately, I rarely have any reason to go to Mechanicsburg, so the money I'd save would be burned by driving out of my way to get gas.

Westchester County, NY - North White Plains is the cheapest around. I paid $2.35 this morning which is $2.00 less per gallon than it was at the height in August.

Not great but a lot better than it was. Here at the Costco in Kona, I paid $2.52 this past Monday. At the peak it was $4.30. The stations that cater to the tourist trade are still charging $3.35. What a ripoff!

Chipley: $2.15 (before 3c Wal-Mart discount). A Circle K in Panama City Beach became the first in Bay County to go below the $2 mark ($1.99). And most stations north of the border (Florida/Alabama) are around the $2 mark or may be below that now.

Amen, Harriet!!! When I am traveling, and there is little to no full service options it is like a comedy skit. Some gracious man usually comes to my rescue when he sees the look on my face. They can always spot the Jersey Girls. Especially when a conversation ensues, and my accent comes out. Today, I noticed prices in Hoboken, Jersey City & Bayonne NJ ranging between $1.99 to $2.11
