How about a decent spoon and thicker napkins?

It might be me, but it seems that even as I pay more for a sundae, the spoons and napkin quality is going way down.

I've attended several of "Miami" Mike Spinelli's lectures, and he is one of the best teachers of small business that I know. He loves to show how saving even a small amount on "cost" or adding just a little to "gross" can add a lot to "net". His book on developing a nation's tourist industry has become a "must read" in vacation areas and would be vacation areas. Even he, cheap as he is, cautions that lowering the perception of quality can lead to disaster.

If you want me to pay 5 or 6 dollars for a sundae, please give me a spoon that I can scoop with, and a decent napkin to clean up with. JMO

We recently went to Madulkas in Worcester. It has been open for a few years, and been busy, but we never got there. They have a nice location, with a deck overlooking the lake, but the reason that I am posting is because they have nice napkins in self serve dispensers, and sturdy spoons, so that you can dig into their excellent ice cream. Kayem hot dogs, the local favorite are 4 for $5 this week, according to the sign. I will return.

Ever have those spoons that slice the corners of your mouth if they come too close?

What about those restaurants that put a nice, thick paper napkin on the table and back them up with see-thru, cheap as can be napkins that fall apart as you pick them up?

Come on... if it's good enough to be on the table, if I need a second napkin, please give me the same good quality as the first one.

PS...  I don't like my napkins rolled and taped around my fork and knife.
