The brand I buy spells it "boudain". I use it in my gunbo. This pak I plan to just eat Cajun style "7 way w/ a six pak of beer". The brand I have is Zummo's, Question is... what are the best store brands???? Joe Ohhh, that's called a Cujun lunch.

Boudin: (boo-dahn) A nicely seasoned Cajun sausage traditionally made of pork and rice and spices. Some versions of boudin have vegetables such as green pepeprs, onions or jalapenos. You can find several different versions of boudin in South Louisiana: hot, mild, smoked, and specialty boudins made with Louisiana seafood such as crawfish and shrimp. Jacob's Sausage Comeaux Poche's Market Others: Richard's Savoie's Tony Chachere's PJ8 These are my favorite Boudin, each has their own blend, all 3 are good. Brother, you need to get out and sample other boudin's. I have never had theirs, but I have had these other 6 and I know you would like them. Happy Tasting CajunKing

I had my first boudin at a meat store located just south and east of Avery Island. It was located on stilts due to coastal flooding. It was about 15 years ago and it was very new to me. The combination of rice, meat and spices along with some evening libation made it very special to me. Since then, I have bought boudin at many places around the Lafayette, LA area. A very delicious treat. I have noticed that Walmart now sells it in the regional areas around LA. Not Tennessee. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Brad Thanks for the cool site, I now have it book marked and will enjoy visiting that site again and again. By the report card they had I rank a solid A-/B+ in my choice of tastes.

I used this site. Went to Best Stop in Scott. My first boudin experience. Bought enough for the drive to Houston, but finished it when I got to Lake Charles. Great stuff. I wish I could go back and sample all the recommended places. I absolutely loved and remember fondly my boudin experience. Everything about Best Stop and the area was truly cool. Also had the cracklins. Ate a bag during the Astros game. Pig heaven. Moist and succulent, unlike brittle pork rinds.

Joe Most of their business probably is online, but they have 5 stores/restuarants (1 in Maurice, LA, 3 in Houston, and 1 in Tulsa) where you can walk in and buy whatever they have online. Saw it on the Food Network. The one owner can de-bone and construct a Turducken in under 5 minutes.
