How do you like your sandwiches cut?

OK, so I'm stretching for new topics, but I genuinely dislike sandwiches cut down the middle,  I like mine cut into a triangle, don't know why, but I'm convinced it changes the taste , how about you, any preference? The responses will be kept private!

Cut sandwiches cross or straight are for the effete. Make a sandwich, pick it up and eat it, dammit! Even this one.

I'd be happy with just the Shiner Bock.

If I cut my sandwiches, I cut them into triangles. But that's usually only grilled cheese if I'm going to dip it into the tomato soup.

Assuming we're talking about sandwiches made with regular square bread, I only cut them if I'm dunking them in something (and that is into triangles), otherwise I just leave them whole. Something on a round bun, always whole. Something on an oblong bun, usually cut in half crosswise.

Just depends on the sandwich. But don't ever, ever cut my 'burger in half. Or like some places do now and stab it with a knife in the middle.

My mom always cut them into four squares for my brother and me when we were kids. We cut them in half, straight, when we got older.

Nowadays, I've converted to triangles, because that is how they are usually cut in Great Britain (even in pubs) -- and I have decided I prefer them that way.

And I can't imagine eating a club sandwich that wasn't cut into four triangles.

I don't cut anything on a bun, grilled cheese and tuna get cut always, as do BLT's, it's something about seeing the goodies inside the bread!

Sandwiches that I make at home, I never cut.  Mrs. OC likes all of her sandwiches cut.  Usually they are on rye and I cut hers on somewhat of an angle.

I like my sandwich cut with a sharp 8" knife leaving no crumbs. I like it placed on a blue plate, served with three Kosher pickle slices located at 12 oclock on the plate. The plate is to be located on the kitchen table 6" from the edge with the top of the plate facing North. ....... I'll take it anyway I get it, I'm not really picky..........................Now that we have reached the bottom of the list of posts, we should be able to get back up to the top again....pnwc

Since I'm such a dainty person, I only eat Tea Sandwiches!
Tuna Salad with Capers Tea Sandwich
Capers and oregano add a burst of flavor to the traditional tuna salad. Celery adds the crunch for texture.
    Ingredients:
    • 10 small, thin slices wheat bread, ends trimmed
    • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
    • 1 can albacore tuna packed in oil, drained
    • 1 stalk celery, sliced thin
    • 1 tablespoon capers, chopped
    • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
    • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 7 cherry tomatoes for garnish (optional)
    Preparation:
Prepare the bread by spreading a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice. Break up the tuna in a medium size bowl. Add all other ingredients and mix together well. Divide tuna salad between 5 slices of bread. Cover each half with another slice of bread and press down. Cut each sandwich on diagonal and place on serving plate. Garnish with cherry tomatoes.

Club, four triangles.....all others on square bread into two triangles. On a round bun of any sort no cutting allowed. Subs in half.

I only get half an hour for lunch and therefore do not have time to cut a sandwich. I usually spend the bulk of my lunch cutting up an apple or pear to eat.

If it's a square bread sandwich, diagonal or nothing.

Subs and other long roll sandwiches should be cut crosswise into sections, but the cut should be at an acute angle...
