How fun would this be...

Seems like I'm always looking for ways to be different. I found this old dining car and could imagine it on the side of the road in some small Texas town cranking out good southern cooking. I'd love to take something like this and put it in a parking lot somewhere - crank out my own dogs and chili. Maybe if I clicked my boots together three times... http://www.cabooses4sale.com/forsale.htm

I happen to dine at least twice a month in an old train car. Even if they didn't have good food I think that the train aspect of it would attract people. It's fun! http://www.carneytrain.com/enter.html

I've seen similar diners/trains...definitely a fun concept. Do you know how much they're asking?

I'm sure it can be done - look at the restaurant in mar52's post. I always felt to be successful in the biz, it's 50% outstanding food, 50% great service and 50% a customer's experience (Yogi Berra logic)

It was used to sell Yogurt until about 1995 and then left to rot. When I bought it in 98 I rented the Street car to people who were going to do a restaurant. They stripped it inside and out, insulated it with spray foam and then quit.

There used to be a restaurant in Erie, Pennsylvania that consisted of old rail cars. And of course there was the chain, Victoria Station.

I own the whole building and lease out the other two stores. The fish market does extremely well. He needs a paint touch up. This spring there will be a big Hot Dog out front. My research is almost done. A 6/LB 7" wiener on a 6" local bakery bun, ate 4 yesterday as a test run MMMMMMMMMMM. All the help I received here made the job a lot easier. By the way that large cone is one pound of ice cream, fun watching some of them trying to get through that.

There's also Barstow Station http://www.barstowstation.net/ The McD's there used to be the largest in the world. Don't know who took it's place. Is it the train cars or is it that there isn't much between Las Vegas and Los Angeles to grab a bite?

Seems to me we've got a couple of threads going at once. Let's stick to the train theme.

mar52 Staying on track! Ahh...very punny you! The storefront, albeit much nicer, reminds me of Clerks (you even have the video store!):
