Sweetslover, I'm sorry to say that your parents will be surprised only to find that Hydrox doesn't taste like the Hydrox we remember; they now taste like Oreos.

[/quote Well, I found them (they 'jumped out' at me at Wal-Mart.) You're right, they taste like Oreos. (Maybe a tad less sweet, but not like the ones I remembered while growing up. I wanted them to taste like Oreos then, which is so funny!) They're still good enough for our family to finish the package, but I'll just by Oreos next time.

I had no problem finishing them either, Sweetslover, since I love Oreos-- I was just really looking forward to reliving my childhood and hoping for that nostalgic Hydrox taste. Alas-- it was not meant to be.... I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that Bonomos Turkish Taffy makes a return sometime in my lifetime!

supposedly French Chew Taffy is the same The closest thing to Bonomo's Turkish taffy. Same taste, texture and shape - put it in the refrigerator and crack it. A nostalgic favorite since the 50's. Available in four flavors. Treat your children to a taste of your childhood today! You can get it at hometownfavorites.com and here http://www.oldtimecandy.com/french-chew.htm

Well, I have another 'Hydrox' story to share. I packed some Hydrox in my 13 year-old DD's school lunch today. Guess what? "Mom, I like those cookies you packed in my lunch today BETTER than Oreos. I shared them with two other friends and they loved them too. They wanted to know what kind they were. Please don't buy Oreos anymore." Isn't that too funny! They're not like I remember 'em, but my DD still notices a 'better' difference between Hydrox and Oreos. Long live Hydrox! (But, please, Keebler (or Sunshine)make them the way you used to.)

That is funny, Sweetslover! It's inspiring me to do a side-by-side taste comparison.... Off to the supermarket!
