Having lived in Europe for many years, cheese is a way of life! The stinkier, the better......like Maroilles, Boulette d'Avesnes, Bleu de Basque, Chimay, fromage gras, Epoisses, Morbier and even simple brie and camembert. A nice crusty baguette (bien cuit), red wine and there is the meal. I can understand that some don't like cheese, but for me, CHEESE ROCKS!

People's tastes are so hard to figure out. My wife LOVES all kinds of cheese, no matter how stinky. BUT, she will NOT eat an egg in any form, because, she says, "they smell like sulfur." Go figure!

Probably shouldn't admit it but I love Velveeta, especially melted on a burger.

quote:Originally posted by amos01 It's a tough life when cheese is your nemesis. It seems like everything has cheese on it or in it, it is a daily battle to avoid the cheese. It's not that I'm lactose intolerant I just can't stand the taste or smell of cheese. Now the odd thing is that I do like pizza and cheesecake a lot. It's is the only cheese I'll eat. I know there are more like me out there, so c'mon all you cheese haters rise up and be heard. You should consider a move to Japan...the whole country hates the stuff. Almost impossible to find over there.

I like cheese but what I dislike is when a restaurant smothers all of it's dishes in cheese (unless it's pizza).Deep fried cheese sticks are the lowest of the low. It seems that a lot of appetizer menus have items that aren't really imaginative, just loaded with cheese.

[ You should consider a move to Japan...the whole country hates the stuff. Almost impossible to find over there. In Japan & China, there wasn't much cheese products except for Pizza. In the Philipines we found it on Pizza & Mamons (round pound cake with whipped cream & cheddar cheese on top) I really like almost all cheeses except American cheese

I cannot stand cheese and I take it off my pizza. I like milk and yogurt. When I was younger, I would gag on cheese. I can only eat queso at Tex- Mex restaurants. Cheese makes me feel

My problem is I have not found a cheese that I don't like. I can't eat a sandwich (pb&j excluded) or burger unless it has cheese on it.

lleechef Having lived in Europe for many years, cheese is a way of life! I love cheese, and I agree that good cheese, good bread and good wine make for a wonderful meal. As it happens, I have some Chimay in the refrigerator right now, and it's not a "stinky" cheese. It's a wonderful cheese -- quite delicate in flavor.

This reminds me of a conversation I used to have with a Japanese friend of mine. Asians, for the most part, cannot fathom our love of cheese and the stinkier we like it, the sicker they get from the smell. I used to tell him about how much I love blue cheese. He would literally turn green just at the thought. Good times... Oh, and since I'm in Cheese Central and I eat it almost every day, your cheese phobia can be treated with therapy. I'm sure of it.
