I fell off the food wagon today ....

Went to Ben's Chili Bowl in DC today for lunch. Had a chocolate milkshake, chili half smoke, chili fries, chips and some shared chili. Normally I try to control my calorie and carb intake -- soup or salad for lunch, but today I feel like ten pounds of stuffing in a five pound bag. Not looking for any responses really ... but boy, it's tough to resist Ben's Chili Bowl ....

I woulda met you there! I am only seven blocks away. We could have felt like ten pounds of stuffing together! Stuffing loves company, you know. Seriously, next time you go, email me--I'm there.

Well, you gotta fall off the wagon sometimes! I usually try to stay with lighter things at lunch too, but everyonce in a while fall prey to a 1,200 calorie plate of enchiladas OR the fabulous bleu cheesburger at Barnaby's.

I fell off yesterday - two slices of stuffed spinach pizza from Piero's, the best pizza on Chicago's North Shore. The restaurant, a take-out only place, is fortunately or unfortunately two blocks from my house.

Is the Ravinia Grill still in operation? Good greasy cheeseburgers and good chocolate malts twenty years ago. I owned a business at 474 Sheridan, the building with the glass elevator and the bathroom that's in a vault.

They bought the storefront next door and are expanding. Should re-open soon. They have terrific chicken (I like the fried chicken, actually, but the BBQ is good too). We'll definitely be back as soon as it re-opens (my 4-year old boy is salivating already)

Love Fla St Grill too! See I think that qualifies as jumping ONTO the food wagon!
