Best Burger here in CT: Harry's in Colchester! I've had this burger with a variety of toppings...and I've never been disappointed! They have great fries and milkshakes too...but they're only open in the summer! Another place I like: Shady Glen in Manchester, CT. I'm pretty sure they steam the burgers and the cheese is good too. If anyone is looking to make their own burgers on the grill, I just found that Whole Foods makes a variety of gourmet patties and they are DELICIOUS! My favorite is the bacon and gorgonzola cheese stuffed burgers! Try them out!

Scotty P's is very good. They have 4 or so "sit down and eat" burger stores in Collin County (the Northern suburbs of Dallas): clean, safe, good burgers, and great fries and onion rings. They provide malt vinegar and A-1 Sauce along with the standard condiments.

Chattanooga is blessed with a wealth of great, idiosyncratic local burgers: Yes, Zarzour's has a terrific burger, but also Nikki's (thinner patty), Magoo's, and, my current favorite, Bud's of Brainerd (best tasting blend of condiments with a chargrilled burger).

quote:Originally posted by anselmo1 In the Western New York area, we are fortunate to have a lot of establishments that serve great burgers. The two that are really outstanding are: Grovers in Swormsville, New York----Suburb of Buffalo Brennans Bowery Bar & Restaurant----Clarence, New York--another suburb of Buffalo. Brennan's also serves a Burger with Kobi Beef! Grover's (just outside of Buffalo) is hands down THE BEST I've ever had!! I don't live in Buffalo anymore but my husband and I will drive over an hour sometimes just to have dinner there when we're craving one of their burgers. Biggest problem there is they don't take credit cards so if you go, have cash. I've seen more than a few times people have to run out to find an ATM.

The Fogelsville Hotel (about 1 mile off the Route 100 N. exit of I-78 west of Allentown PA) is one of those classic old hotel bar/restaurants that used to be village centers in that part of eastern PA. Their "Fogelburger" - a hamburger topped with sauteed onions and a fried egg - has been served to generations of customers. I've never tried one because I don't like fried eggs but Fogelburgers are popular with my co-workers.

Here it's Mac's Drive Thru. The one and only location. Two drive throughs that you still speak into one of those big grey round speakers, you have eye contact with the order taker, or you can park across the street and walk up. No sit in dining, two picnic tables outside. Closed 4th of July week EVERY year and on weekends. Open 8a to 8p during the week, no breakfast items. Four drink sizes(gotta have the jumbo sweet tea)one fry size(I wish they had two at least)hamburger(reg. or double) cheeseburger(same as hamburger)a roast beef sandwich, a fish, a cuban, a ham and cheese. That's it. Do not go at lunch time. The traffic spills out into a main road 15 cars deep....at least.

Roscoe Diner in Roscoe, NY. Cooked just how you order it, very juicy and tasty. Fries are great too - hot, crispy and salty

I used to live in San Diego and they had a franchise out there called Boll Weavil. The specialty was a half-pound steer burger and I will tell you it was a real gutbomb. But boy were they good. I suspect they were a major contributor to the cholesterol restricitive diet I am on now. Them and In and Out for a double double with onions.
