So here it is. Chili, Chilis, Chilies etc however you like to spell them! Nothing with this recipe is exact except maybe the sauce. I play with the measurements. If I want it boozy I replace a little of the milk with some apple schnapps. I don't have nuts listed but you can add them. Chili Apple Bread Pudding 1 -- 10 ounce loaf stale French bread, crumble (6 - 8 cups of any bread) 3 -- cups milk 1 -- cup heavy cream 2 -- cups sugar 8 -- T butter, melted 3 -- eggs 2 -- T Vanilla + 1 -- can apple pie filling (or more) 1 -- small can diced green (Hatch) chilis (You can omit them here and just have them in the sauce) 1 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp nutmeg First mix Cinnamon & sugar if using. Combine all ingredients, mixture should be very moist (like oatmeal) but not soupy. Like a slushy jiggle. Pour into buttered 9 X 12" or larger baking dish. (Use disposable aluminum pan) Place into non-preheated oven. Bake at 350º for approximately one hour and 15 minutes... until top is golden brown. Serve warm with sauce. Apple Chili Sauce 1 -- 12 ounce can of filtered frozen apple juice concentrate (thawed) 1 T lemon juice 2 tsp cornstarch 1 T light corn syrup 3 Anaheim chilis (charred, peeled and diced into small pieces) (Or a can or two)

Oooops! I forgot the sauce instructions: Put all ingredients except chilies into a small saucepan. Whisk to dissolve the cornstarch. Put on medium high heat whisking occasionally. Reduce to one cup. Remove from heat and add chilies. Refrigerate. Make more for more! I like to double it.

That sound so good. I've been looking for a dessert with a different twist to it!
