Dearfolk, This is a mite off-topic, I know, but I'm back and badder than ever! See my four or so other posts to confirm my continuing (if renewed) state of animation. Anyhow, I missed y'all while the library was closed (due to an arson fire!). While time won't allow me to post (or even surf by) every day, I will wander in at least two or three times a week. It's good to be back. And better to keep eating!! And reading!!! And posting!!!! Well-Fed, The Returning Ort. Carlton in Ginkgo-Tree-Fruit-Dropping Athens, Georgia. P. S. Dadgum it, I don't think the things (ginkgo fruit) are edible. Anyone have any suggestions therefor? Pudding?? Pie filling??? Preserves????

Ort: I am not sure, but I have read that the fruit from the Ginko stinks and is a plague. I was told not to plant a female Ginko? Don't know, but that is what I heard. Glad you are back. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Ort-nice to see you back. I've been wanting to ask you a question. Do you know what the final dispostion to Birmingham Brewing was. I know it changed hands a few years back, but am a little unclear on whether it ever reopened (even briefly). Thanks, Inquiringly and thirstingly yours, Brooks

Brooks, Good to hear from you! Appears that B'ham. Brewing is gone. There isn't even enough support there to sustain a brewpub, much less a micro. Shame, isn't it? Atlanta supports three micros, plus 15 or 16 brewpubs, counting the chains. Ran into our mutual friend Mr. Mullins recently. He bids you well in absentia, as do I here, in the flesh. Thanks for the post. I've not forgotten your kindness. Best, Ort.

Ort, I believe that is why they call it the "Tragic City", oh wait, that was "Magic City" wasn't it? Tell John hello for me.
