i made a salad for thanksgiving that would do. same idea to cut through the richness of the main dish. it was sliced fennel, red onion and orange segments tossed with a little vinagrette.

12/5: i knew i forgot something. this had jullienned red bell pepper, too.

Our neighbors joined us for Thanksgiving. She brought an Italian side dish: gently steamed broccoli, tossed with olive oil and fresh garlic, sliced thin, a little salt and pepper, then a squeeze of lemon juice. This was served at room temperature. What a treat, and so simple...there wasn't one bite left. I can't think of any meat or seafood this would't complement.

Steamed Artichokes served with a nice lemon or garlic aoli for dipping the leaves. Might as well serve another finger food with it!

I would have more crab as my side.

Sometimes a sprinkling of Lawry's Seasoning Salt believe it or not.
