Ideas for Hot Dog Article

Dear Roadfood Colleagues, I've finally convinced this fancy magazine I write for to send me somewhere that doesn't serve brie. So I'm hitting the hot dog trail. If you have a favorite, non-chain hot dog establishment in the areas described below, I'd appreciate a note. The more offbeat and obscure the place, the better. The regions I'm covering: East Tennessee, down to around Knoxville; Western North Carolina, particularly around Asheville; Southwest Virginia, up to about Wytheville; and Southeast Kentucky. Please e-mail me off-forum at: sauceman@etsu.edu. Many thanks, Fred Sauceman Johnson City, Tennessee

Fred, unfortunately around Knoxville, you ain't gonna find much. I was in the Raleigh-Durham NC area this past couple of weeks and there is a plethora of hot dog places. I recoginize that this is not in your area you will cover. Paul E. Smith knoxville, TN

Fred, try a Google Search of "Hot Diggity Dogs Lafayette, TN." It's a story about two midwestern women who opened an authentic Chicago style Veinna Beef hot dog stand in Lafayette, TN. CSD
