You'd make....No politics, we all know, so: I'd make the Stock Market available to individuals only, eliminate Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, computerizrd trading, short selling, futures, everything except individuals buying and selling their own stock, no margin, 3 day settlement, no junk bonds. One of many things as world ruler I'd decree...and you?

I'd regulate everything... oil, gas, insurance, hospitals, banks, etc. and I'd do away with all unions so everyone would have to pay their own way.

I would make all natural treasures( Smithsonion,Grand Canyon, etc) free so we could all equally enjoy the history and natural beauty of the country we live in.

This thread will have a short life. It is close to the edge now. It is not Roadfood related. As you can guess, a few short post and it is dead. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TNl

I would hope to ensure the freedom of every person on the planet. Pretty simple. Then the rest of the issues, real or perceived, will take care of themselves in a civil manner.

I would make it so even without health insurance, you still got the same discounts on your bills the insurance companies get, rather than the inflated highest price they can possible charge. I would also make it illegal for your payment plan to come to more than you make in gross wages for the month. Sorry...I'm having a thing right now. But it's not political!

Free flights to Cuba for pharmaceuticals. People would read for comprehension. People wouldn't call my job with the intent to argue, not listen to the answers for questions they are asking, and generally acting like jackknobbers. I'm tired of being bullied by self-righteous jerks who know full well I can't say what I'd really like to for fear of losing my job. New kidneys for ppl Michael's age & above A new kidney for my dad. A new kidney for me so I can eat as much salt as I want.

I'd make a manned colony on Mars a 25 or less, year project. A National Lottery, that if you won, the prize is no taxes, or any deductions from yor paycheck, even wealthy folks would play!

Mine comes from a different viewpoint. I would find a way to S L O W Progress in non-life-preservation realms. I seriously believe that the speed at which change is taking place in ALL areas of culture and technology does not allow the human mind adequate time to adapt to its new surroundings. I know this sounds like the drooling rant of a chair-bound old-timer, but I think, if people had more time to learn of the impact of events and advances, perhaps the world could exist a bit more peacefully.

I totally agree! My younger cousins never had the pleasure of waiting to use the phone, which was located in the KITCHEN so you had to have full conversations in front of your PARENTS so the topics of conversation were monitored & you would not waste 3 hours texting back & forth. There's a DVD player in the car now. Whatever happened to looking out the window & checking out the landscape? Whatever happened to mapping out your trip with an actual map you purchased with your own allowance & marked your trip on it with a highlighter & watched for the cities on it to come up? The license plate game?

Make School lunch healthy, take away the crummy choices. It cost the same. But the student's behavior and grades went up, The weight issues went down. We are only as good as our people. Free advanced learning for all. After High School.. offer those those that want to study and better themselves a chance to do so. Just because the parent's can't afford it. Doesn't mean they don't deserve it. A group of young people with good education and health is a good thing. Getting off my soap box now!

In actuality, there are 1366 people who are in charge(rule) of the world. And they are doing a terrible job of it
