The Stonebridge Gyros & Cafe, located at the following Illinois Tollway Oasis serves Vienna Beef hot dogs & Polish: Lake Forest & O'Hare. In October, they acquired two separate concessions at the Lake Forest & O'Hare Oasis called "The Dog House," offering a complete menu of Vienna Beef Products. They serve a great Polish cooked the old fashioned "Maxwell Street" way: cross cut, deep fried/char grilled.

Sorry CSD but I have to disagree with you on this, I have been going to Jim's since I was a teen (I'm 56) and I was just at the new location again a few weeks ago. I am quite sure that the polish is and always has been grilled, not deep fried)

I'm sure you're right. I met his son and we talked "Vienna Beef" when they opened the Stonebridge at the Lake Forest Oasis. We both sell the exact same hot dog & Polish and I'm friends with his Vienna Beef rep. I use the poppy seed buns, he uses the plain. I'd visit him every time I was driving into Chicago from Wisconsin. That's how he made my Polish for me at Stonebridge Oasis before he opened the Dog House, the original Maxwell Street way. I grew up on Roosevelt & Keeler in '47. My grandparents would take me on the 12th Street(aka Roosevelt Road) street car to Maxwell Street shopping with them every Satutday, where I was weaned on Polish and grilled onions. Please join us for the upcoming Chicago Italian Beef Tour. It's in the planning stages now and a date will be set in the immediate future. You'll find info under the Miscellaneous-Off Topic & "Lighter Fare" Forum.
