I'm watching too many movies...

because of this- www.redbox.com This DVD vending machine dispenses only new or newer releases at less than half the price of Blockbuster= $1.00 In the last week i've watched eight movies from these things! Found in front of grocery stores and the dreaded Walgreen's. I did hear that McDonald's has a major stake in this.

Jeepguy, You are welcome to my quota of 'flicks' for the next year or so. I haven't been in a large screen movie house in years..nor bothered with a full-length feature film on home-video in quite awhile either. No real reason, I just don't take the time to enjoy them..and the surrounding culture that goes with them.

The only way is to lock me in a theater once every three years, so this is unusual for me. But i like new gadgets and the redbox is pretty cool!

I use to rent movies, or took them for a ride for a few days. Never watched them, returned them and paid the late fees. Now I just buy them and look at them sitting on the shelf unopened. Never know I may watch them someday. Chow Jim

I've got netflix but I rented Snakes on a Plane (don't make fun, it was a good beer-drinking movie) and Little Miss Sunshine (very overrated) from redbox just last night, the first time I'd used the thing. I'm still keeping netflix but I'm going to use redbox for when I want to see something just released. You can't beat the price. This week I think I'm going to watch Borat and Casino Royale. I'm so addicted to movies. I have netflix, I go to the my local library every week (sometimes 2 or 3 times a week) and every so often I'll schlep out to Greenville to browse through their library. I thought about joining Columbia House last week before coming to my senses. I've got enough sources for movies. With redbox, I've got one more.

These things are very handy. We have one at the front of our Safeway store, so convenient to drop off/pick up, and the price is right, only a buck! At Blockbuster, they are charging over $4 a movie now, and most of the time they ain't worth it. Grea idea, wish it would have been mine!

We buy ours. Put them on. Zman can stay awake until the end, but not me. I lay on the couch, put some blankies on, kitty sits on top and suddenly it's zzzzzzzzzzzing for me. Hey, well, somebody in this establishment is actively WORKING!

I almost never see movies in the theatre, unless it's something that the kids want to see. Occasionally, like if it's a musical (Chicago and Dreamgirls comes to mind) I'll just by myself. If we go and pay a sitter to watch the kids, it becomes a VERY expensive night out, especially if we include dinner. To this end, I joined netflix awhile back. They made a fortune off of me!! My three movies just sat, unwatched, for months at a time, as we lived our busy lives. Finally, I realized that it just wasn't gonna happen, so we cancelled our account. I did find the netflix service very good, so if I suddenly find time for a lot of movies, I'll rejoin.

Netflix for me. I like the old and foreign films that you can't find in Blockbuster, much less Redbox. If there is a new release that I want to see right away, I just add it to my 200+ queue and shoot it to the top.

I stopped by my local redbox last night and got Borat. It was good but not as funny as I'd hoped or been lead to believe. There were some very funny bits, but lots of dead time or spots where they went for the simple joke or set-up. Disappointing overall.
