The "secret" menu is also on In'n'Out's own website... http://www.in-n-out.com/secretmenu.asp My favorite = Animal Style. Yummmmmm.[It's funny how some of the 'secret' menu titles are trademarked. ]

I like the Double-Double just as advertised (w/onion). I have done a few 4x4's in the past but frankly the D-D is enough for me. We try to stop at an In n Out whenever we are in the SoCal area.

In my last trip to LV last spring, I tried the "animal style" for the first time. It was YUUUMMY! Probably wouldn't have known about it if not for Roadfood posts. I made it to INO twice during a 4-day stay. Will be going to Phoenix this December and am looking forward to another INO fix. QFan Bonita Springs, FL

There are chains and then there are chains. In-N-Out is a cult.Their first location in Tucson opened earlier this year. People waited in line overnight to be among the first to eat there. Is there a rule against posting about "chains" here? I seem to recall posts about Five Guys here. That's a small chain. Tony Luke's has more than one location. Is that a chain? At least In-N- Out is not a franchise.

From the list of Fora: Fast Food Franchises & Non-Roadfood Chains While NOT Roadfood, they are an unfortunate reality in the food industry. Post your fast food topics here so the rest of the forums can maintain it's purity.

" This is a cult: 1 : formal religious veneration : WORSHIP" Well, This qualifies "In n Out" in my book !! However, In order to stop Mr Hoffman from winning the Tom Jackson Look-alike Competition (all Buckeyes must inherit this attitude?) I will confirm that there have been a number of threads dealing with In n Out in the past and they are located in the Chain/FF Forum. So, reluctantly, I will shuffle this one down to that forum, muttering about what a great CULT it generates!

Excusez-moi Mr. Hoffman for originally posting this in the Hamburger Forum instead of the Chain Forum. In-N-Out in my book is a burger place regardless of whether it qualifies as a chain. The last time I looked, there were no fried chickens or wraps or salads on the menu or even on the "secret" menu at In-N-Out. It's cult status remains legendary. I'm a big fan of regular non-chain burger places too.

I LIKE chains. They serve a purpose for me. They have a tendancy to keep some of my regular haunts not overly crowded, therefore I can get a seat. I've even been known to darken their doorways on occasion, in a pinch. Chow Jim

I know with Jamba Juice, they have a secret menu that consists of drinks with names like "Pink Starbust" and the like, and you can see why they don't/can't advertise it.

One Move per thread. Live with it. I love In n Out. I have probably consummed more of them than the majority of you. I would much rather eat them than shuffle comments about them from 2000 miles away. I don't give a damn if they are a chain...a thread... or a freakin ball of string. They are good. AND now that this thread has found a home...They have resident status!

Her's some good news. Seems the rumor is they will build one in Mt. Shasta and then here in the Rogue Valley. I would assume this must mean they want to build a noCal commisary or something similar.

Saaayyyyyy. I looked at Mr. Stern's review, and who's gonna tell him the link at the end is dead?? He needs to (or Bruce needs to) link to the secret menu link I posted above, this is the dead bit "A Roadfood.com user has just tipped us off to an amazing web site that details In-N-Out's Stealth Menu." where "stealth" is a hyperlink, it's not got nuttin' to do with InO any more. Y'all can argue all you want, I agree that InO is non-franchise and qualifies as Roadfood (way more than some of that yuppie crud we've been seeing in recent reviews, i.e. i.e. sleek coffeehouses etc). Too bad this left the burger forum.
