In-N-Out coming to Dallas. (?)

Dallas area blogs are abuzz with rampant rumors that the venerable In-N-Out Burger chain is finally coming to Dallas, Texas. Apparently, a prominent local realtor has leaked the information that INO is about to sign on 6 properties around the Dallas area.

We've heard these rumors many times before and most of us know to just ignore them. But tonight, it was actually reported on the 10:00 news. And, they even showed the famous In-N-Out Burger logo!

If true, I'll have sweet dreams tonight about walking up to the counter and ordering my double, double animal style with cheese and onions.

I checked their website for the locations file and see that they have really spread into AZ and even have a store in American Fork,Utah now. It will still be a big jump to get into NorthCentral Texas from there !!! Perhaps someone in the INO governing family has relocated to Texas recently??

They'd have to be building another commissary somewhere.
I think they are at the limit at the moment.

Five Guys expanding from the east and In-N-Out form the west. Sure is better than the fast food options. At this rate McDonalds will have to put a griddle back in there stores....Russ

Although I haven't been there yet, Five Guys has already opened a few stores in the northern Dallas suburbs of Plano and Frisco.

If this is true, I won't have to fly to California for a double double and a milkshake!!!!

My sister lives in Dallas so I can make it a Roadfood event, going to Babe's for fried chicken, eating Mexican food, BBQ, going to Central Market, and now IN-n-OUT burger!

I just had a look at the Dallas Morning News' food blog. Leslie Brenner, the DMN's restaurant critic has confirmed via telephone call with the people at INO that they ARE coming to Dallas but, have not confirmed locations yet.

As with any of the "good" FF stores, everything hedges on the franchise owner keeping up the standards of the 'chain'. One of the reasons I really like Culvers is the quality of the stand near us. The owner meets or surpasses any of the corporate standards and the product reflects that care.

My sister visited a Famous Daves in Portland not long ago and came away swearing never to enter again. While I acknowledge that FD serves something less than the 'top ten' BBQ, we have eaten in our local store (Clarksville,IN) when it was a convenient stop for us. The difference in reviews, I think, is due to the lack of concern on the part of the franchise owner in Oregon, not keeping up the requirements of the original company.

The furthest out of SoCal I have had an In-N-Out Burger was in Las Vegas. Not really a long reach to be 'close' to the heart of the company. We'll see what happens when the Dallas Store opens !!

LOL so many people say that an In-Out coming to their town would be like a dream come true. I love it, very excellent for "fast food"!

That's what's made In-N-Out what they are today. The chain is still run by the Snyder family, that's why they've been able to expand to multi-state corporation yet still retain the quality of a "Mom & Pop" joint.

Dang I'm gonna have to go get a Double Double now.

Try this, at least once: A 4x4 or 4x2 animal with animal fries well.

Yup, it's true. In-N-Out will open it's first store in Texas at the Firewheel Town Center in Garland. They must have done their homework because that area is home to many California ex-pats.
I think they are actually "breaking ground" next month. I'm really looking forward to enjoying my first double, double protein with onions in over 3 years.

If you Dallas boys get your In-N-Out just keep it up there. Here in Houston we like our Prince's and Lankford Grocery burgers as well as a dozen other home grown burger joints that make those little I-N-O's seem like nothing but soggy cardboard. I  tried em in Vegas and Utah and  find absolutely nothing special about I-N-O. Just a another burger with catchy way to order different toppings.

For the new breeds coming around, I think 5 Guys and Smashburger do a pretty good job with a burger. We have them both in Houston now and the ones on my side of town are always packed.

Houston just needs a White Castle and a Maid Rite and this place would be burger paradise!!!

I've never had one, but the pickiest eaters I know LOVE In-N-Out.  In fact, Julia Child was a fan.  That endorsement alone is enough for me.  Hope they'll come this way.

They're officially opening the first of about 4-8 local stores next year in Ft. Worth and Dallas. The first Dallas store is going in a vacant Steak and Shake on No. Central Expressway at Caruth in near North Dallas about 4 miles from downtown.

The September 24 edition of the Fort Worth newspaper reports that In-N-Out will open a store next year at 2900 W. Seventh Ave in Fort Worth. Sounds good.
