Indian bread Tue, 10/28/03 5:35 PM (permalink)
Anyone tried the bread available for sale roadside in the pueblos in New Mexico? Not talking about fry bread (though that's good too!). These are round loaves of bread cooked in the stone ovens. To me they taste like they have a lot of baking powder or soda in them. Makes excellent toast. Has anyone tried this bread, made it, or has a recipe? (not that I can bake worth a flip)

OK, thanks Elise T for the info. That will at least give me a place to start looking.
