Hello All,
Pamelakrest, who knows? I hope not.
But I do know that animal food is not as
regulated as perhaps it should be.
Human food is not inspected as well as it
should be.
I sometimes fear we will have a major
health epidemic beyond the problems
we've had before.
Many countries have banned our foods for
short periods of time because of health
concerns.
We express great trust everytime we
go to the grocery store.

Pet food and animal feed IS highly regulated. That is what makes this so scarey. I started another thread on the same subject a short time ago, before I knew about this one. Bulk feed byproducts from China will be shunned for a few weeks, but if nothing is done, I expect a problem like this will pop up again.

Hello All,
Tmiles, I am not sure pet and animal food is highly regulated
when it comes to the health and well-being of the animals.
It may be regulated as far as what is profitable...what is
cheap and also fattens up animals.
We pump so many additives into their food to make raising
them cheaper, but it may not be healthier for them.
We can't talk to them and ask them how they feel.
I don't mean to sound like a PETA nut, cos I'm not,
but I do believe we have a trust and honour to treat
our fellow creatures nobly and responsibly.
And you can use regulations in good and wise ways
or for other means. Yes, pet and animal feed may be
highly regulated. Lately, we have seen the results
of HOW it was regulated.
Tmiles, I'm not attacking you, please know that.
I just worry about our current system of regulations.

My pets have remained safe through this entire insanity. Thank God. PETA is going to have a field day with this when all of the facts are in, IMO. (No, I am not a member of PETA.) Not trying to turn this into a political agenda, but we as a country are spending way too much $$$ in certain areas and letting everything "domestic" fall by the side.
