Isaiah's Cafe in Montgomery, Alabama is closed

Called yesterday and the phone (334) 265-9000) has been disconnected at Isaiah's Restaurant, 135 Mildred Street in Montgomery, Alabama. Checked with the Montgomery Visitors Bureau, and they confirmed that Isaiah's and the adjacent B&B, The Butterfly Inn, had closed.

Oh no! I love that place. Hopefully everything is okay with owner Isaiah Sankey and his family. Thanks for letting us know hilltopkid and welcome to Roadfood.

That is a bummer- probably one of my "new" favorite restaurants I've been to this year.
I found an article that explains things..

Peach Cobbler and a Health Clinic are good endeavors to pursue in your "retirement"

Good Luck to them both, they will be missed.

Thanks for the link WJ!  Best wishes to them both in their future pursuit.  I never met Johnnie Mae, but had the pleasure of conversing with Isaiah Sankey twice and he is a real go-getter.  No doubt he will be very successful in the health care field.

Man, I am going to miss that lemon pepper catfish and peach cobbler!

The catfish and cobbler were VERY good. I agree about Isaiah, we will succeed in any thing he does.
