Island Time HDC - Clearwater, Fl

Does anybody know if the Island Time boys are still in business? Have been trying to reach them since June 30th. Voicemail and website still active.

I have read some good reviews aobut these carts. I believe genewj had some good things to say about them in a previous post.

I tried to reach them unsuccessfully for about three weeks before I gave up a couple of weeks ago. I ended up going with carts from Vendog (located here in SC), but had trouble reaching them as well until a fellow Roadfooder gave me the owner's cell phone number. I suspect that for most cart builders it is simply the busiest part of their season. FWIW, I really like the Island Time carts on the site and the one I looked at locally. They seem to be high quality products. Good luck in tracking them down. I know sometimes it seems counterintuitive to have to hunt someone down to give them money!

One very effective way to get their attention is to call one of their neighbors and ask them to take a message over to them. I imagine it would be embarassing for a business to have a neighboring business come to you and let you know that a potential customer is trying to get in touch with them but can't.

I found a used cart 60 miles away in Georgetown, Ky earlier on craigslist. The ad had a dark picture and a very general description of the cart. Waiting on their email reply.

Your Metropolitan cart was one of my finalists from the new cart family. Thanks for your help.

They also have listings on eBay. You could always contact them through that "ask seller a question" button and ask, "Where the heck have you guys been and don't you want me to give you some money???"

I checked on Ebay yesterday... they don't have anything listed presently.

When I was getting my cart from them, they were not very quick to respond to emails or phone messages. I chalked it off to Southen-beach culture vs Northeast can't-stop-for-nuthin' culture. And in the middle of our building-a-cart conversations, they noted that they would be on vacation for a week or so and don't respond to any forms of correspondence.... so, maybe they are on vacation... I dunno what to tell you.
