Italian Beef at Wendy's!

I googled to see if anyone has tried one and found this reponse:

If you are even curious about eating this monstrosity, do not try it.

It's their ciabatta bread with some pinkish deli meat (tasted like ham) dipped in some sort of brown juice. I'm a product of the Chicago public system and the closest thing I could equate it to is that gravy the salisbury steak are cooked in at the cafeterias. and no peppers. by far, the poorest excuse for "italian beef" ever.

Now you have one good review and one bad review...I would suggest you let people make up their minds themselves instead of telling people not to try it. Everyone has different tastes...don't mean to sound defensive, but if everyone had the same opinions as you, then we wouldn't have all the food options we have. Have a nice day and try not to be so negative...I don't care for alot of fast food, but I'm not telling people not to try it based on a couple reviews. Just saying...

I'm not telling people not to try it. That was part of the person's review on the other site I found. I couldn't care less if someone wants to try it. I myself will not get one and would not even if I hadn't found that negative review. I get to Chicago about twice a year and I would never waste any of those precious few meals on a Wendy's italian beef. But if someone else wants to try it, go for it and let us know what you think.

I do hope you make this board a regular site and check out all of the content here. The more the merrier. But I will warn you that the fast food area is one that you will find a lot of negativity regardless of whther or not people have tried to food. Many on here have fought against having any fast food forum at all.

Anyway, I apologize if you thought I was lashing out at you personally or being negative. I just wanted to see if there were any other reviews out there and I found one.

As a lifelong Chicagoan and a self proclaimed Italian Beef expert I am fearful of this Italian Beef sandwich at Wendys. My main concern is of the three Beef places I frequent in Chicago, they all make their beef by hand. Well, not the actual beef, but they season it and cook it themselves. We all can hopefully agree that food normally tastes much better when it is more fresh and handled with more care than a fast food chain. Italian Beef is a regional food home to the Chicago area and I hope it stays that way. If someone does it right however, I see no problem with it going global. Try Romas in Chicago on North Cicero or Maxs on Western and you will see the love!

There is absolutely no reason to eat an Italian beef sandwich at Wendy's in Chicago ... OK, maybe one reason: if every other single beef place in the Chicago metro area burned to the ground at the same time.
