I don't think we narrowed it to the Northshore. This will be a city wide tasting, correct?

but I do think we should narrow it to places that make their own beef or that does something that sets it apart from the other stands like bake their own bread or make their own Giardiniera.

At the risk of angering the moderator gods, I am posting in this Forum strictly in answer to questions asked herein. It won't happen again.

chicagostyledog and I, along with, I believe tsores and maybe others, are meeting this Sunday to discuss what will come to be known as The Great Chicagoland Italian Beef Tour.

In an effort to appease said gods let me remind all interested parties that discussion of this outing has been moved to the Miscellaneous-Off Topic Forum. Someone will be posting details there after our meeting.

Buddy

P.S. We will try to take into account as many schedule restrictions as possible. Have a list of priority dates in mind. See you in the Miscellaneous-Off Topic Forum.

I'm a Chicago/Lincolnwood boy who moved to Wisconsin years ago. I own a Vienna Beef hot dog cart and work at Prime Outlets Mall in Pleasant Prairie, WI on I94 & HWY165. We're open on Saturday's and Sunday's from 11-4, July-Dec, and Memorial Day weekend. Look for the Vienna Beef umbrellas or the red "Grateful Dog" Chevy Express cargo van with the VB signs on the doors.

So, how did your Sunday meeting go?

Whoever asked me about Michael's, here's my reply:

I typically go to Michael's because my two kids love the place. They order grilled cheese and fries. My wife and I usually go for some of the healthier offerings on the menu, such as tuna wraps or veggie burgers, which are fine. I try not to eat hot dogs and fries except on special occasions, and when I do, I choose somewhere like Fluky's.

Danimal: Sunday meeting went well. We have a rough plan, some homework to do. Henceforth, go here for the tour topic.

I think the Philly's Best in Evanston serves Italian Beef.
