Yes that's right folks Christmas time is just around the corner and as of today (8-30-11) the Cincinnati Zoo started hanging their Christmas lights in anticipation of the upcoming holiday. Yes they do have some 2,000,000 + lights to hang between now and November 25th, but couldn't they wait until September. http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/n...-at-the-cincinnati-zoo

sk bob those people should be SHOT. Only if they turn them on before 12/1. It takes a lot of time to hang 2 million + lights.

And since it snows in Cincinnati, I'm sure they'd like to get it done before that happens. I don't see an issue with it if they just hang them without turning them on.

mar52 I like them. Festive! Me Too! I have them hung neatly around my back patio. Gives a festive light to eating Al Fresco.

I buy Christmas presents starting in January. But then I never have enough money to buy all the presents I need at one time,so I like to spread the spending out.

Cajun King forgot to mention that all 2 gazillion of those lights have to be the new mini-flouresants...and there are only two light-bulb hangers left on the payroll after all the cutbacks in city hiring freezes (and neither of them speak English). Cincinnati is considering running an extension cord under the Ohio River to tap into some of Kentucky's cheap but dirty coal-fired electrical generators.

If we get the $2.3 BILLION for our new bridge they wont have to run the extension cord under the river.
