Jack In The Box Food Truck

I have a minor rant. Do the schmucks that dreamed up the idea that Jack in the Box really built a food truck and now goes around passing out food to "real people" expect us to buy into that crap?

We don't have one in Southern Oregon.
Is this a Texas thing and are they handing out tacos?
Because if so it is time for a road trip.

JITB actually has a food truck called "The Munchie Mobile". It operates in SoCal:

They use it for special events and promotions.
I think they only have one now but I'm sure if it's a hit, they'll order more of them.

It's one food truck in an area with probably 20 million vehicles!
No wonder you didn't see it.
It's only been on the road for a couple of months.

    The "Munchie Mobile"...???

Is this for the Prop 215 (medical MJ) rallies...???

is the JITB HQ more stoned than we thought...???

I wonder how much a "marketing consultant" was paid to come up with this name...???

    "...Food...I must have food, but I'm too weak...oh wait, there's a munchie mobile, dude...I'm saved...!!! "

I can't help but wonder how many JITB there are in SoCal, and what the furthest distance one might need to drive to find one...the very first one I EVER saw was in Huntington Beach around 1966 or 1967 (they weren't in NorCal yet)...I had no idea what on earth a "Jack Cola" was, and why there was an oil well pump in their back yard...all I wanted was a burger and a (real) coke and had never seen their garish names for things printed all over their cups and food boxes before (they were establishing market identity)...it was a new experience...a few years later they toned down sticking their goofey names all over everything...

Most of us don't live in your "Groovy" world and would not have made the Munchee connection..
I rank JITB way ahead of other fast food burger chains for their products and service. Also pretty good Brand Marketers.

Nope, nada JIB truck here in San Antonio. If you like food trucks, there is an area on Bulverde Road in San Antonio which has quite a few food trucks that set up each day, where you can try different foods.Forget now what they call the area.
    Rather clever idea though.

Well with the first JIB, opening in Indy in just a few days, pehaps the Munchie Moblie will make a trip to drum up some buisness.

    Roach Coach was already taken?

I'm lucky enough to have a JITB close by for my low quality, delicious tacos.

I kinda doubt it. It's a "Fur Piece" from San Diego to Indy, unless you're on the Chargers private jet!
I think you'll find JITB several notches above other fast food chains, especially with the Breakfast items available 24/7. The Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit is my go to item. The Meaty Breakfast Burrito is good too. I don't recommend the Jumbo Breakfast Platter. It's the only item on the whole menu that I don't care for.
JITB is 72% Franchised so I suppose the Indy stores will be franchised. Hopefully, they'll be as well run as the ones here in the PHX area.

How would you feel about a truck from Henry's pulling up outside your door?

My world isn't all that "groovy"...but the MJ connection IS where the term "Munchie" came from...420 is also a California term, invented in Marin County...

Yeah Mar, we'll eat tacos there...quick and dirty deep fried tacos DO have lots of crunchy flavor..

I prefer JITB over many other fast food joints...

Their marketing in the very early days (mid to late 1960's to early 1970's) was very gaudy...yet it DID establish an identity...not 1 square inch was wasted, the name was *everywhere*...much different than the local mom and pop burger joints you'd see in towns up to that point in time...and the one in Huntington Beach was right on PCH across from the beach...might even still be there, with an oil well next door...

It was many years before I ever saw one in northern Calif...

    Interesting murals on that truck...

I noticed recently that JITB is revamping it's image to "Jack" ...  maturing a bit...
